Winter motorcycle riding, warming measures guide

In the cold winter, riding a motorcycle, especially long-distance motorcycle travel, is undoubtedly a double test of the rider’s will and physical endurance. Low temperature, cold wind, ice and snow, these factors not only affect the comfort of riding, but also pose a potential threat to the safety of the rider. However, for those who love riding, winter is not a taboo for riding. As long as you take appropriate warming measures and equip yourself with suitable helmet bluetooth headsets, you can effectively resist the cold while enjoying the fun of riding, ensuring safety and health.

1. Reasonable planning of itinerary and time

Avoid extreme weather: Try to choose sunny, windless or breezy days to travel, and avoid riding in bad weather such as rain, snow, fog, etc., to reduce the direct invasion of cold on the body.

Ride after sunrise and before sunset: Take advantage of the warmth brought by the sun during the day, try to ride after sunrise and before sunset, and reduce the impact of low temperatures at night on body temperature.

2. Layered clothing

Multi-layered clothing method: Adopt the principle of multi-layered clothing, choose breathable and sweat-absorbent materials for the inner layer, such as quick-drying clothes; the middle layer is a warm layer, such as a fleece jacket or a down liner; the outer layer focuses on windproof and waterproof, such as a cycling jacket or a cold-proof suit.

Tight clothing: The inner layer of clothing should fit closely to the body to reduce the heat carried away by air flow, while facilitating sweating and keeping the body dry.

3. Keeping the head and face warm

Full-face helmet: Wearing a full-face helmet can not only provide head protection, but also effectively isolate the cold wind and keep the head warm. Some helmets are also equipped with anti-fog lenses to ensure clear vision.

Mask or scarf: Wear a mask inside the helmet or wrap the neck with a scarf to prevent cold wind from entering from the collar, while protecting the face from the cold wind.

4. Keeping hands warm

Heated gloves: There are heated gloves designed for winter cycling on the market, which are powered by batteries to provide continuous warmth for the hands.

Waterproof and warm gloves: Choose gloves with good waterproof performance and warming effect to ensure dry and warm hands. The inside of gloves can be filled with fleece, and the outer material should be windproof and waterproof.

5. Keep your feet warm

Warm insoles and socks: Use warm insoles to increase the temperature of the soles of your feet, and wear thick wool socks or warm socks designed for cycling to ensure that your feet are not frozen.

Waterproof shoe covers: In rainy and snowy weather, use waterproof shoe covers to protect your shoes from getting wet and keep your feet dry.

6. Keep your body core warm

Warm vests or vests: Wearing a warm vest or vest inside your cycling clothes, especially for the back and chest, helps maintain your body’s core temperature.
